Alfonso Villafuerte died peacefully with his family by his side in his daughter’s home on April 16th, 2018 in San Jose California at the age of 88
Alfonso is survived by his wife, Maria Villafuerte of 64 years and his children, Rosa Villafuerte Solorio, Elida Villafuerte Bajwa, Alfonso Villafuerte, Jr. and Jose Villafuerte. He had 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Marco Villafuerte.
Alfonso was born on November 2nd, 1929 to Julio Villafuerte and Josefa Guevera. He married Maria on May 3rd, 1953. Soon after their union, the couple welcomed their oldest daughter, and followed by 3 children. Alfonso had migrated to United States to set a foundation for his young family to be able to give them a better life and opportunity. In 1966, he had moved his family to San Francisco California, There; he would exemplify to his family the meaning of fatherhood, and leadership. The couple welcomed their youngest son in 1968 and not long after, moved to San Jose California.
Alfonso was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the pillar of strength and courage of the family.
The vigil is on April 25th, 2018 at 7:00pm at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located at 2040 Nassau Drive in San Jose CA 95122.
The Funeral Mass will take place at 11:30am on April 26th 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, located at 4600 Hyland Ave in San Jose CA 95127. The burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery located at 2650 Madden Ave in San Jose CA 95116. A reception to follow at The Solorio’s home located at 3166 Salem Drive in San Jose CA 95127. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alfonso's life.
