Carlos Agustin, 81, of San Jose, California, passed away August 28, 2019.
He was born August 27, 1938, in Mountain View, Hawaii, the son of the late Maria and Pioquinto Agustin. The eldest son of 3 siblings. On September 6, 1958, he married Beverly Jean De Coito.
He is a graduate of Hilo High School in 1956. He served in the Air Force as an electrician from 1956-1960 and in the reserves until 1963. After his discharge, he was employed by UTC and then the City of San Jose as a painter where he retired after 28 years in 1992.
He is preceded in death by his parents Maria & Pioquinto Agustin, step father Pantaleon Marantan, sister Avelina Lum and brother Florentino Agustin.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of 61 years; daughters, Laurie Agustin of Lincoln, CA, Heather Borer (Jeffrey) of Beaver, PA; his sister, Lolly Ragragola of Waialua, HI; four grandchildren Tamara Hakim (Hoogeh) of Calabasas, CA, Justina Regney (Russ) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jacob Borer of Las Vegas, NV and Rebecca Borer of Pittsburgh, PA; four great grandchildren Benjamin and Andrew Regney of Virginia Beach, VA and Hannah and Harper Hakim of Calabasas, CA.
Carlos loved all sports and enjoyed the outdoors especially his garden. He had a green thumb and could bring anything to life. He was a forward thinker and enjoyed staying on top of current events and of course sports statistics. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren
The family wishes to give a special thank you to all the people at Kaiser Permanente that assisted and supported him during his final days.
Memorial services for Carlos Agustin will be held at 1:00 p.m., September 13, 2019 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church (794 Calero Avenue San Jose, CA 95123). Please join the family, in the church hall, for a luncheon immediately following the services to share in celebrating his life. Final resting place will be at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No 2 in Hilo, Hawaii.
