Dorothy Mae (Fruik) Renard passed away of natural causes on November 10, 2016, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP), in Monterey, CA, in the presence of family. She was born to parents Russell and Pearl (Paquette) Fruik on May 12, 1927, in Sagola, MI. A devoted wife and mother, doting grandmother and great grandmother, and tireless volunteer, Dorothy (better known as "Dot" to family and friends) was a pillar in the Monterey community since arrived with her young family in 1952. In addition to her volunteer work and civic membership with groups such as the Stage Stompers, Volunteers in Parks, the Naval Postgraduate School Wives, the San Carlos Cathedral, Meals on Wheels, and CHOMP, Dorothy enjoyed hiking, gardening, dancing, traveling, and spending time with loved ones, family and friends alike.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 69 years (Dr. Robert Renard), four children (Ron, Debbie, Rick, and Carol), ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all friends and caregivers that contributed to Dorothy's wellbeing and quality of life.
