Long time bay area resident and Korean War Veteran, Thomas Viviano passed away peacefully at home in Newark, California surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November the 7th 1932. Thomas had three siblings, Marian, Seraphine, and Joseph. His family moved to San Jose in 1943. In 1951, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
He married his wife Eugenia "Jane" D'Amelio in 1957. They were united in marriage for fifty-two years before she preceded him in death in 2009. Thomas is survived by his brother Joseph, his loving children, Peter, Mary (Rhodes), Michael, his grandchildren, Rachel, Mickey, Michelle, numerous relatives as well as his large extended family and devoted friends.
Thomas was very talented mechanically and he loved restoring cars, trucks and trailers. He enjoyed a long career in the trucking business. He worked hard his whole life, usually six days a week. But always enjoyed a family gathering on Sunday.
His drive and character endeared him to his friends and family. Always with a smile on his face and thunderous laugh, he will be sorely missed.
