John Joseph Moran May 22, 1937-August 23, 2017 Fremont, CA John Joseph Moran passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on August 23, 2017 at the age of 80. John is survived by Patricia, his loving wife of 50 years. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Robert Moran (Kim), Colette Moran-Medina (Alberto), and Shonna Moran (Norm), and his grandchildren, Joaquin, Brenna, Gavin, Gabriel, Cruz, Soleil, Kailani, and Kaleo. He is also survived by his sister Mary, brother Fr. Robert, and sister Helen. John was born in San Mateo, CA on May 22, 1937. He attended St. Catherine Elementary School, and graduated from Serra High School in San Mateo. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business from San Jose State University. John served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked as a medical supply salesman for 30 years. John enjoyed reading, going to the movies, following his beloved SF Giants and 49ers, and being involved in social justice issues. Most of all, John loved spending time with and taking care of his eight grandchildren. The Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 41933 Blacow Rd, Fremont, CA 94538 on Saturday, September 9th at 2:00 pm, with Father Robert Moran officiating. A reception will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Center 40382 Fremont Blvd. Fremont, CA 94538 immediately following the Mass.
