Richard Castro Lacap Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Obituary Richard Lacap had no acquaintances, only conversations -- and once a conversation had been engaged, a friendship was born. He loved his friends and family dearly, and was always ready to create memories and show love to the people in his life. He was born in Manilla, PI in 1974 as the first child to Marie Castro and Jesse Lacap. Richard graduated from Independence High School in San Jose, the city where he was raised. He leaves behind his younger brothers, Gerald, Christian, and Gilchrist, as well as his mother, and his children; Charmaine, Richard Jordan, and Chanel. In his lifetime, he worked hard to protect his family and community, and dedicated his life to creating a safe and secure space for everyone around him. Richard achieved his dream of owning his own business, and worked tirelessly to provide for his children. The dedication and diligent work ethic that Richard was known for began at a very young age, he was known as being the most hard working person by all who knew him. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with close friends and family to other countries, caring for animals and horseback riding, going cruising while singing karaoke and blowing off steam at the shooting range. Not only was he a Hero to his family, but also the community. In the last few years of his life, he spent his time supporting the Muslim Community Association and was welcomed into their community with open arms. His love for this family helped him transition his faith to Islam, and he was truly proud to be a part of their lives. Richard took his shahada at MCA in 2017 which he was so proud of and talked so profusely about. We offer our deepest condolences to anyone and everyone who's lives he may have touched.
