Obituary

Debra Ann Morris of Hollister, California. December 27, 1958 to June 16, 2020

Our beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt died in an automobile crash in San Jose in the early morning hours of June 16, 2020. Too soon at the age of 61, most of Debbie's life was dedicated to the rescue of animals, especially cats. She would never fail to feed or nurse an injured or homeless animal. Her heart was always open to her cats and other animals that seemed to keep drifting on to her path. At this time in her life, she was doing what she did best, working at MedVet Pet Hospital in Campbell, helping the injured and scared animals that arrived at the door. She had been going to school to become a certified veterinary assistant.

Debra smiled at her role as a devoted mother to her son, and a loving grandmother to her beautiful grandchildren. Her life included service to the United States Navy, which she enlisted at the age of 17, followed by a long career as a legal secretary and a lifetime of volunteer jobs which she really enjoyed. She was a free spirit that often marched to the tune of a different drummer. She had a heart of gold, a sharp brain and a devotion to her Jewish heritage. Debra was multifaceted and embraced a full circle of the life of a good and loving soul. She will be greatly missed.

Debra is survived by her son Terence Green, her mother Carol Moran, sisters Tammy Berry, Shelly Gipson, Shayna Billings, Kellie McDermott, Kimberly Goodwin and brother Big Ed Moore .

She is also survived by, and will be sadly missed by her beloved grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Alex and Andrew Green. Her nephews are Kevin Quinn, Chad McDermott and Galen Clarke. Nieces include Jaimie Billings, Danielle Quinn and Grace Clarke. Debra belonged to a large family that includes many cousins, nieces and nephews.
