Irene Lopez, lovingly called Mam by her many adoring grandchildren, departed to her eternal garden in heaven on February 11, 2022.
Irene was born November 23rd 1940 in La Prieta, Villa de Cos, Zacatecas, Mexico. Her girlhood mirrored the life of young Laura Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie.
Then, at 23 years, she married her chosen lifelong partner, Teofilo Lopez. Life was difficult following the birth of several children, but Irene, a faithful Catholic, carried on with a strong will and undying love and devotion to her family.
Life's many travels took Irene and her young family across Mexico, eventually leading to a permanent home in 1978 in San Jose, California where she eventually, with great pride, achieved US citizenship.
In the next 44 years, Irene proudly witnessed the birth of 28 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. The warm light of many new lives carrying on her bloodline gave Irene the strength to persevere through several bouts of illnesses in her golden years.
God finally called Irene to join him in his kingdom of heaven, devastating the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived be her guardian son, caretaker & best friend, Sergio, her husband Teofilo, four sons, and two daughters.
Irene will forever be missed, and never forgotten.
