Briana Victoria Lopez Chavez, a remarkable soul, was born in San Jose, CA, on December 7, 2004, and passed away on October 11, 2023, at the Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital. She was a symbol of strength and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. From the moment she entered this world, Briana faced a unique and challenging journey, living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a condition that made her skin as delicate as a butterfly's wings. Despite the odds stacked against her, she was always a warrior and a fighter who refused to let her condition define her. Like her middle name 'Victoria,' she came out with victory over every battle, proving doctors wrong who had once predicted she might not live past her first birthday. Briana is survived by her loving mother, soul mate, and best friend, Veronica Chavez; her father, Alejandro Lopez; and her cherished siblings: Evelyn, Daniel, David, Veronica, Mikey, and her beloved nephew, whom she loved like a brother. Briana had a special way of showing her affection, often likened to 'fluffing up' Alex like a pillow, as she would lovingly pat him, bringing comfort and joy. Briana loved eating (especially desserts). Her favorite place was foodie land. She adored spending time with her dogs, Frosty, Snow, and Chiquita. She also loved dancing and listening to her favorite artist, Selena Gomez. She had recently learned to drive and was excited to obtain her license, a testament to her determination.
